Other Literary Events of 1892

As we know, the major literary event of 1892 was the publication of Golf in the Year 2000. Lesser, but still noteworthy, happenings included the publication of these works: Rudyard Kipling's Barrack-Room Ballads, Oscar Wilde's Lady Windermere's Fan, Henrik Ibsen's The Master Builder, George Bernard Shaw's Mrs. Warren's Profession, Emile Zola's La Debacle, Gerhart Hauptmann's Die Weber, Knut Hamsun's Mysteries and Israel Zangwill's Children of the Ghetto. And from the literary lose-some, win-some department: Walt Whitman (Leaves of Grass) and Alfred Lord Tennyson (Idylls of the King) died that year, and Pearl S. Buck (The Good Earth) was born.
