Jules Verne's New Adventures

As good or better than the originals? I think so. Of course, the authors of The Mammoth Book of New Jules Verne Adventures: Return to the Centre of the Earth and Other Extraordinary Voyages are building on the model established by the original master of Victorian-era speculative fiction, and they are all top-notch writers in their on right. If you like Verne then you'll like this book by his "heirs." Recommended.

As someone who enjoys Jules Verne, but also sci-fi drama, I'd like to point you in the direction of Noise Monster Productions which produce an audio drama series on CD called Space 1889. Great for roadtrips.

Their tag line is...
"Everything Jules Verne should have written. Everything H.G. Wells could have written. Everything Arthur Conan Doyle thought of, but never published - because it was too fantastic.

Space: 1889 is an exciting new series of full-cast audio adventures on CD. Set in a fantastic alternate universe where Thomas Edison discovered a means to travel in to space (or the 'ether' as it is known).

I've not actually got around to getting these myself yet, but the pedigree of the people behind it is without question as most of them have been producing quality audio drama on CD for Big Finish productions, primarily based on Doctor Who.
