Technical Difficulties

File this under webmaster technical notes or skip ... unless you have some ideas for how I can solve a couple of annoying problems I'm dealing with. Prime among them: my FTP programs have all stopped working for no apparent reason. Can't update the main Golf in the Year 2000 site, for instance. I can update this blog because I do that through Blogger. When I started GITY2000 I was having trouble FTPing things to the server, and it turned out that my built-in Windows XP firewall was blocking me. Once I turned that off, everything worked fine until a few days ago. I checked and the firewall is still off. I have several different FTP programs and none of them work. Based on the error messages, they apparently log on to the server OK with my username, but then are kicked off after a certain amount of time because they never give the password to the server. Or something like that. ... The other problem involves my wireless router. Will save whining about that until another post. Have too much "real" news I want to post about. But comments, advice and suggestions from my techie readers will be appreciated.
