Tracking news about the site and book and commenting on speculative fiction, Victorian-era literature, technology, futurism, life extension, extropianism and ... maybe ... golf.

Wasn't the future wonderful?

Toilet Paper World

Yes, there's a whole web site devoted to one of the world's great but usually unacclaimed inventions, one that we all use every day (unless we happen to be suffering a lack of fiber in our diet). Did you know that Chinese emperors in the 14th century used TP made just for them, or that TP on a roll was first manufactured in the 1890s? I learned these fun facts from toiletpaperworld.com, along with the story of the great Hawaiian toilet paper shortage.
