Learn Spanish
Although I'm hard pressed to tie it in to either golfing or futurism, I did want to call attention to this new blog, Learn Spanish. As the (ahem) very well known author of the blog states, it is for "who wants to learn Spanish" with "lots of information on the best ways to learn Spanish, whether from a school, on a vacation in a Spanish speaking country, or on your own using language learning software, audio and video." Not so much a place to learn Spanish, actually, but rather a place to learn about learning it.

For a scant 350$ I can be a Spanish speaker in the flash of a rocket.
This system "Rocket Spanish" does look good. Since learning a language is a pretty long prospect I'd like to recommend a couple of things to add to the mix: www.parlo.com has great courses that very reasonably priced and a company called Yabla (cut and paste this URL http://lomastv.com/affiliate/592/)has a great video language immersion product (not a course) that I urge everyone to check out. A mix of all of these methods + Listen, Read, and Speak will get you functional pretty quickly. No magic - just persistent work. Best of luck!
